What is the metal clip I found after washing used for?
You likely found the locking clip. It is stored on the underside of the lower carrier fabric and is often discovered after washing the fabrics. This clip can be used for carrier and base installation with Lap/Shoulder belt combination when the seat belt does not work.
In 2015 models the locking clip is located on the bottom of the base.
